Based on technology used in the wool scouring industry, Petlon Polymers has developed a unique fibre washing plant that when used as part of our manufacturing process can produce high quality nylon regranulate products.

The nature of our business reduces the use of finite resources and the impacts associated with the disposal of waste products. The company accepts that its activities impact on the environment and are committed to continually improving performance in this area. The impacts will be addressed through the implementation of an environmental management system that will conform to the international standard BS/EN/ISO14001.

The following principles apply to all business practices:

  • Regular monitoring of actual and potential impacts on the environment will provide the basis for continuous improvement of the company's performance. Achievable and realistic objectives and targets, with appropriate performance indicators, will be set to demonstrate a commitment to the prevention of pollution. Review procedures will monitor progress and ensure all significant environmental aspects are addressed
  • As a minimum the company will comply with all relevant legal obligations. If conflict between governmental regulations and the requirements of Petlon Polymers arise then the more stringent shall apply.
  • The company is committed to designing processes that minimise resource utilisation and environmental impact. This will be achieved through process design that takes into account the best economic environmental option.
  • Waste management will be based on the hierarchy of reduction, reuse, recovery and final disposal. Objectives and targets will be put in place, and communicated to ensure high standards in reducing the impact of waste on the environment.
  • The company is responsible for monitoring the use of energy and wherever practicable introducing energy efficient processes that minimises consumption.
  • Employee awareness and compliance will be maintained through training programmes and weekly newsletters from the executive team. Every employee, as a minimum, is expected to comply with the environmental management system.
  • The policy is on view in key positions throughout the buildings and is available to interested parties on request.
